Ever the arty Autie

Akin to the art of Rafael Villamil - the graffiti art of Duel

Mural by Duel, early 1990s I thought I had no other pictures of my younger brother, Duel’s, art but came across one from his early days, taken with an instamatic camera. His work is very evocative of the amazing work of a friend’s father; famous contemporary Puerto Rican artist and architect, Rafael Villamil.

I was recently inspired to see some of my brother, Duel’s, new works and hope to get some photos at some stage to document this new stage in his art.
Duel and his wonderful wall murals feature extensively in the Australian documentary, Sprayed Conflict (1994), directed by Robert Moller.

UPDATE:

Duels new site is now up featuring a collection of his murals and recent works

  1. A fantastic piece of artwork. I love the explosion of colour and the buzz effect this piece gives me.

  2. Fabulous.

Duel’s work is both explosive and full of poise.
I’m a Taoist and I think his work has much natural Tao in it.
