Hi there Clay,

I understand about the two party system thing.
We have three parties here - the right, the moderate left and those who care about equality/diversity/humanity/environment which is probably fairly leftist but mostly left and right don't figure as much as humanitarian values, so that appeals to me. We all have those we feel are great models. I look at people like Mandela and Ghandi that way. I'm into a moderate path, a middle way, not extremes or imbalances and I know we all have very different 'normalities' so in my world no one of us is right but I appreciate some order that hopefully helps us all.

I have different kinds of posts on this blog.
There's a category for autism if you want only to read autism related posts.
alternatively on my site www.donnawilliams.net I have two mailing lists you can join. One is an autism mailing list and only gets autism-related articles.
I send out about 10-20 a year.

Donna,

I am not necessarily a "republican". I am a "conservative" politically. In my country, we are, unfortunately a two party system ( republican/democrat), therefore I vote republcan, since there is no way that the democrat party would ever consider my veiw point - conservative, since the democrat party is liberal.

I don't agree with you on global warming. But, I do look to you for education regarding autism. My daughter has been diagnosed as being a person with autsim. That is why I am here.

I want to do what is best for her. Not in the sense that I am looking for a "cure" as it her autism is a problem. Rather, I am here to learn what I can to make the right decisions to help her be all that she can be. If that makes any sense.

Hi Clay,

its very inspiring that a republican and I can disagree with each other's politics and still maintain a healthy respect for each other as people.

If those of all other kinds of differences can healthily do the same, wow, what a great step towards a better world.

Then we could get along enough to tackle global warming which would benefit the entire world.

Donna,

I disagree with you politically, I am a conservative and, while I am not a Bush sychophant, I voted for him twice, and believe that at least in terms of post 9/11, he has been the man for the job!

That being said, I have benefited greatly from reading your articles regarding autism. I plan on purchasing your books as soon as I can.

I am a parent of a small child that has been diagnosed with autism, and am endeavoring to learn all that I can about autism so that I can do the right thing in helping my child.

From what I have seen so far, the autism world is becoming partisan like the political one, with autistic people fighting against the need for a cure and other non-autistic parents fighting for a cure. I'm not quite sure a cure is possible, or even if there was one that it would really change the essence of the person being cured into a totally different person.

If a cure did exist, it would most certainly affect the way that person experienced life in this sensory, physical world, but destroy a person and create a new, different one in his/her place?

Anyhow, I want you to know, for what it's worth, I am very happy that you have been able to receive what you needed to be able to blossom from what was caging you into the freedom to be the artistic, intelligent woman that you are!

I hope God continues to bless you richly.
