Lots of religious people, Christian or otherwise, would agree. I myself am a spiritual person, rather than religious, but many churches, and other houses of worship, habe statements about the importance of the environment. I was thinking more like organizations like Focus on the Family or the Family Research Council, that think global warming is fake. I am not a fan of those orgs at all! I feel strongly that Godd does not want us to destroy the earth but to presetrve as much as possible. Generally churches do not emphasize earth stewardship but to strive to love ourselves and one another and to forgive. Church goers like the general population are not perfect and may not have enough decernment of the environmental effects of activities. Many people interpret the bible wrong by implying that it is okay to exploit our resourse. The bible encourages the opposite and this is what a lot of people do not understand.
