Ever the arty Autie

Donna Williams solo art exhibition - Jan 22nd- Feb 12th Adelaide 2007

Hope by autistic artist Donna Williams The new year has an arty start indeed with my upcoming solo art show at Adelaide’s GRENFELL GALLERY.

The exhibition, set in the thoroughfare of corporate Adelaide, is put on by the Art For A Cause program, hosted by Peak Events with the generous assistance of AMP Capital Investors.

I will be donating 30% of all proceeds from sales of artworks in the show will directly benefit local support services for adults with autism.

The exhibition runs from January 22nd through to February 12th and is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm daily.

It will feature 24 of my original works in categories titled

Dreamscapes

in a solo show called Alternative Normalities. The affordable artworks in the three distinct styles in the show capture a range of sensory perceptual and cognitive states, from face blindness to context blindness, systems thinking and the kinesthetic world of movement. The works are highly textural, contrasting bold and vibrant works with evocative monochromatic pieces. With descriptions of the experiences related to each of the works, the exhibition is also a journey to an altered sensory perceptual, cognitive and social-emotional ‘normality’ and invites participants to explore their own ‘autistic moments’ as well as better understand diverse ‘nomalities’ including those experienced within the Autism Spectrum.

The Grenfell Gallery can be found at:

  1. Hi,
Great work. I was wondering if you could share with me info about the
Art for a cause program. Its there a website? I am also a painter and I am working on some art related to Autism. If you have any suggestions - please let me know. I would really like to start showing my work as well as others work to promote awareness for Autism. I find your work fascinating, thanks for sharing. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
