“Inclusion 4 All” Art Show, QLD, Australia Sept 08

August31

Circus Hoops by Donna Williams  This September I’m an exhibiting artist in an exciting inclusive art show on in Brisbane, QLD.

It’s the brain child of well known QLD, Aspie artist, Travis Mitchell who wrote:

This exhibition is bringing together, artists from culturally and socially diverse backgrounds to bring to the public, the experience of other ways of living and being.

This art exhibition which hosts emerging, professional, established and famous artists from Queensland, Australia and all over the world will establish a benchmark for the arts industry as such an event has not been attempted on such a scale.  The focus of the artworks is from the Raw, Naive, Indigenous, Folk, Intuitive, Self Taught, and Outsider Artists who share this vision.

This 1st annual exhibition of ‘ Full Circle Inclusion 4 All’ will be held in Footsteps Gallery, 166 Ann St, Brisbane, Queensland Australia throughout September 2008.

The works will also be shown to audiences globally through a dedicated website throughout September and visitors who may leave comments about the show and share the creative energy in a virtual environment.

During the month of September, Full Circle will be also offering four 1/2 day workshops and floor talks by featured artists as guest speakers.  It is envisaged that these workshops will be filmed and used a tool and educational reference.

This exhibition will showcase works from new and selected artists such as Liz Parkinson (the first recognised Australian Outsider artist), new and emerging Indigenous artists such as Piers Midwinter (Director, Curator and Founder of the Raw Arts Festival, an annual exhibition held at various locations around the world), as well as Elizabeth Turnbull, an Australian Outsider who was recently featured in the New York Arts Magazine for her work at the New York Raw Arts Festival 2007 and several of the Australian contingent that exhibited and attended the Australian Outsider Exhibition in 2006 at the Halle Saint Pierre Museum (Art Brut) in Paris.

Initially the exhibition focused on Artists within Australia but International artists became excited about the show and so it has grown to feature artists from all over the world. It is an exceptional opportunity for Australia to lead in this visionary project.  A key highlight will be a visit to our exhibition by the overseas artist director and founder of the Raw Arts Festival, Piers Midwinter. Our aim is to ensure this show is a success and ultimately we can progress this project so that Queensland will launch the First Raw Arts Festival In Australia within the next two years.
