My apologies for my English! My 31 months old grandson Dylan was recently diagnosed as an autistic child. Of course I'm very sad, but he is bringing to my life a WONDERFUL world, full of colors and imagination that I could not expect it at all! Thank God for this opportunity and for the kind of love that I see in his eyes which I could not even thinking he would be capable of.

there are leisurely and dependent personalities who will have poor motivation to do anything compulsory and leave it to others to do all the work. if one also had hypotonia and oral dyspraxia or speech apraxia articulation and word retrieval would be harder than the effort might be worth, especially if the environment easily took over. if selective mutism or exposure anxiety were added one would struggle to dare speech. All can be addressed at some level once you know which are present.
