Ever the arty Autie

a 2nd 6 Day Ebay Christmas Art Sale – Limited edition prints by Donna Williams

December10

procrastination sqr sml It’s Christmas so I have a second art sale on ebay!  A selection of signed Limited Edition are prints are selling at a starting price of $20.

My original art works have been exhibited and sold nationally and internationally and usually sell for $100-$1,500.  The Limited Edition prints are from collections of only 50 meaning that after 50 art prints are made of each of the original works these are derived from no more art prints will be made so there will only ever be 50 of these in the world.

Have a look at them.  These usually sell for $85 but in the sale start at $20.  So if you’ve wanted one of my original artworks, or want to buy one as a fundraiser for a charity auction, now’s a good time to grab one in this sale.  It lasts 6 days so be quick.  You can find the ebay link here

Happy bidding.

Warmly,

Donna Williams *)

ARTISM blog – Artwork of the month: July 09 “The Velveteen Rabbit”

August9

The Velveteen Rabbit sml This month’s art work is titled “The Velveteen Rabbit”.

Its from my Dreamscapes/Faceless collection and features a Rabbit and his Person in a cradle like boat on a lagoon.  Each appears waiting for the other to navigate and because neither do, the water itself navigates them.  They drift in silence, just ‘being’.   The Velveteen Rabbit was a book by Margery Williams about a stuffed rabbit who longs to be a real rabbit.   The work is acrylic on paper, 31cm x 41cm.

I hope you enjoy the painting.  It is one I did this week, the rest of which you can see in my online gallery.

Warmly,

Donna Williams *)

Artism Blog – artwork of the month: July 09 “Life On Earth”

July31

Life on Earth sml This month’s art work is titled “Life on Earth”.

It features two of my faceless people standing in a forest at ‘the edge of the earth’.  Whilst they are grounded in a tangible reality, beneath them is a realm of intangible emotions.  One is tentatively asking the other a question but the other person is unable to answer.  The work is acrylic on paper, 31cm x 41cm.

I hope you enjoy the painting.  It is one I did last week, the rest of which you can see in my online gallery.

Warmly,

ARTISM blog – art work of the month – June 09 “At The Typewriter”

June7

At The Typewriter by Donna Williams This month’s art work is titled ‘At The Typewriter“.

And it was at the typewriter that I began to find I could express something more than echoed speech.  I was about 9 years old when a typewriter was left in my room for my discovery.  Being a child with extreme Exposure Anxiety, I was reticent about it.  Surely it was an attempt to test me out, to get me to accept it, and clearly it was of ‘their world’, not mine.  Read the rest of this entry »

The Soulful Figurative Works of Autistic Artist Christophe Pillault

May15

Figurative works by autistic artist Christophe Pillault  Christophe Pillault produces some of the most moving art by people with autism in the world.  Severely autistic, functionally non-verbal and with extremely limited self help skills he produces faceless, figurative works of soulful figures interacting.  The works are full of movement, passion, yet also great grace Read the rest of this entry »

ARTism blog – Donna Williams asks, so what is ‘autistic’ art?

May14

If art expresses the cognition, perception, social emotional, communication and personality states of the artist, what are we learning from artists with autism?  Are we learning about autism at all through their art, and if so, which facets of their autism?  Are we in fact learning more about the diversity of autism through the array of works by people with autism and how does this stir up fiercely defended old and new stereotypes? ARTISM blog – art work of the month – May 09 “Eleanor”

May12

eleanor-sml.jpg This month’s featured art work is titled “Eleanor“.  It’s title comes from the Beatles song Eleanor Rigby which I feel is a song that captures aloneness.  I have rarely felt lonely but I experience aloneness all the time.  I’m solitary by nature and by choice and I cherish my solitude enormously, often too much Read the rest of this entry »
