We often feel that as one person there is little we can do to help equalise the world, reduce the suffering and hardship of the poorest and most disempowered people in the 3rd world or do anything to stop wars or combat global warming. But that’s a mindset based on beliefs one can only invest in (often unethical) maximum profit ventures and that mindset is not an absolute set in cement….Investing in ventures with healthy returns which simultaneously are globally ethical may help the PR of corporates in ways which high profit ventures could never do. The work of Percy Barnevik who has helped start up 60,000 family enterprises in some of the poorest regions in the world, is one such example others could learn from.
