Art Blog: Help, my sculptures have gone all funky!
Well, I started out doing quite classical work, as can be seen best in my life sized bronzes. Then, being face blind and unable to ask people if I could please feel their faces so I could sculpt them, I began doing largely faceless characters akin the the faceless characters in my paintings. Soon I diversified into Bas Reliefs and even did a fountain! Then something wild began to emerge and my characters ended up in multiples tumbling, struggling with each other. But now, wow, I’ve gone to some whole other planet with my sculpting. Abstract? Hmm, they are conceptual, almost linguistic perhaps, certainly contemporary but perhaps with influences of Art Deco. But they are certainly funky. The feel of characters is in there, but also the elements, and the dynamics of relationships, nature versus industry, primal instincts versus something almost ethereal. Judge for yourself.

I like them. I love “Not Now”. I see a lot of meaning in all of them. Gosh where do you find the time to do so much. Amazing. Are they all bronze. Beautiful.
