Finally, the solider is going home
I got the newest sputum tests and the CT results back.
Finally, I am free of the Haemophilus Influenzae bug I’ve been fighting for 4 months.
I can come of antibiotic number 7 (Bactrim with all it’s help and horrors)
I can stop flushing jugs of salt water through my nose
I can even eventually come off the steroids.
My lung CT showed I don’t have lung damage (bronciectstasis)
and though I probably once had a broken nose my sinuses are good.
So basically the cause of the 4 month bug battle was the various immune deficiencies
but hopefully now the vit D deficiency (in spite of sun, fish, eggs, fish oils) was picked up that’s at least one step better up the immunity ladder than I was.
I’ll still need to get good immune results before I can fly again,
but for now I’m just so happy to be an otherwise healthy person with immune deficiencies.
So this soldier is now heading for a holiday.
Such a happy soldier.
Thanks so much for all being there and a huge thank you to the doctors and to Chris for keeping me sane and human and for playing when it looked scary and to the guys in The Aspinauts for letting me have a ‘real life’ through all this and to Bev for being so thererererere and to Janette for carrying my shopping and to all those who wrote to wish me well.
I’d also like especially thank my higher self which held my hand and kicked my butt the whole way though tears and snot and lungs full of spider web gunk and a body that felt it had forgotten me. It kept the soldier on duty and now lets me just rest and get back the 4 kilos I lost fighting this thing.
warmly,
Donna *)
