And the Lung Demon’s name was…Haemophilus Influenzae
After 4 months of lung infection, nose infection, ear infection, throat infection, four antibiotics and every nutritional and lifestyle intervention for Primary Immune Deficiency, finally, fairly good news today from the doc today. They now know exactly which bug I have (they knew it was bacterial but had a lot of tests to work out which one it was) which means we can now fight it better. It’s a kind of pneumonia called Haemophilus Influenzae (one of which is Hib) and 3 of the 4 antibiotics we’d tried are not known to touch it so I may not be immune to antibiotics yet which is great news for me, thanks Santa.Â
So we have 5 others specific to this bug which we can now try that are known to kill it
plus now we know exactly what it is I can give the doc samples each week to find out if it is immune to any of the future antibiotics we intend to use. Plus they found I was low in vitamin D which suppresses immunity and unlike some of the other immune challenges which are trickier, that one is very treatable, so Merry Christmas to me!
And I was waiting on 3 soldiers and had two arrive. The third one arrived today, it’s an immune booster and it did good for me once upon a time. So I’m really looking forward to giving these things a good chance to do their magic in time for the January show of Footsteps of a Nobody in Geelong… be there to cheer me on.
So I’ve now been told to sleep and sleep and sleep so guess what I’m off to do…
I told the doc I’m going to sleep out in the shade not in a bed so I can pretend I’m a woman of luxury 🙂
warmly,
