On going ‘pop’! – Spontaneously bursting finger veins in EDS
Tell people you keep bursting veins in your fingers and seems everyone has a story. Similar, however, isn’t same, so here, in detail is what happens with mine and my cousin’s.
I’ve been getting these since around age 26. They start as a spontaneous sharp pinch sensation in the soft phalange of a finger and if you look at the finger at that time the vein will be bulging, turn purple-black as it bursts and the blood from it then fills up the phalange of the finger turning it purple, and progressively black, with associated pain. Then over a series of days the blood will be taken back up by the body and the bruise will disappear. Fairly mundane little issue, transient, but can be perplexing, worrying. If you have these regularly, as my cousin and I now do (every few weeks or more) chances are you have a vascular problem. If you have other signs of vascular EDS (EDS IV) you would best get a referral to a vascular specialist aware of the condition to get an opinion.

Why did it start in your twenties?
Oh how dreadful!
I guess because by age 25 the body degenerates faster than it can repair.
I’m so proud of my daughter Chanel Torres! She is a victim to fetal alcohol syndrome , she has surpassed all expectations and yesterday she won BayNews 9 EveryDay Hero award for the year , her goal is to drastically reduce the numbers of babies born with FAS. She is also the 2012 NATIONAL YES I CAN WINNER FOR HER ADVOCACY! This winning can be viewed on YouTube. We have just completed our autobiography “SIGNING WITH A HEAVEY HAND AND HEART, love mommy” she has allowed me to expose her inner most private behavior issues with the hopes if saving others from this 100% preventable birth defect!
I found if I take fish oil daily these incidents have pretty much stopped
fish oil in doses of 10,000 can work as an antiinflammatory
in any case great news for you
interesting I’ve increased my omegas to around 5000mg-10,000mg a day re inflammation and yep, I’ve stopped popping too
