Hi Donna, I keep looking for others in Victoria, in fact Australia, who have DID to chat with online. But many of us are wary of putting it out there it seems.

yeah, seems to me there’s several ‘majorities’ in the DID community… tourists, commonly with BPD (without DID) who have roles/role play rather than alters and prefer the idea of DID to BPD or find it juicier/more attention grabbing than their usual BPD stuff… then there’s those in the closet with a host in charge and all other alters surpressed or coming out only when they are alone…. then there’s those who are totally out there but pretty much playing to the gallery on how extreme their DID is, how suicidal they are, etc… then there’s those whose DID allows them to function in the world who just keep their DID to themselves as some kind of ‘dirty secret’…. and occassionally there’s folks like me, living out loud, humanising DID, showing that I may have alters, and share body time with any of them, but that we’re each all relatively well adjusted whole people and those who were not so well adjusted have become more so since therapy.
The more that we understand our similarities and differences… that DID is just a further complication of PTSD… that there are those with DID with and without BPD, those with DID with and without ASD, that our group like most conditions has its tourists… the more people will understand our diversity as multiples in a largely singleton world.
